Real Talk Review
I tried the 2024 New Year Collection | Handcrafted Press-On Nails – Sweet and Edgy Butterfly Design for Everyday Wear.
Short answer: I’m impressed. Long answer: keep reading.
These are false nails that actually look like you walked out of a good salon. The finish is glossy, the butterfly art is cute but with a cheeky edge. They’re Handmade in Australia, and that made me smile. You can tell someone paid attention to details. No weird glue blobs. No weird smell. Just neat, feminine, a little punk. I reckon they’re stunning for the price.
Application was quick. Took me about 12 minutes including sizing. Felt secure straight away. Wore them to brunch, then to a gig. My hands felt dressed up without feeling fake or clunky.
Salon vs these. Honestly? Close. Not quite pro acrylic-still-on-my-nails-3-weeks durability, but visually? 90% there. Better than cheap store press-ons that peel in two days. And yes — they beat a lot of stocky, mass-produced sets. The handmade touch shows.
Pros & Cons
- Pro: Salon-like glossy finish. Looks expensive.
- Pro: Handmade in Australia — quality control actually matters here.
- Pro: Comfortable fit. I forgot I had them on after a few hours.
- Pro: Lasts 10–14 days with proper glue and normal wear.
- Con: Removal needs care. Do it properly or you’ll chew your nails up.
- Con: Sizing can be fiddly if your nail shapes are unusual. I had to file one or two.
- Con: Not indestructible. Heavy chores or constant typing will show wear at the tips over time.
My favourite bit? The butterflies. They’re sweet but not twee. The edge comes from the contrast and tiny black accents. I got compliments all day. People asked if they were gel. I told them they were handmade press-ons and watched jaws drop.
A few practical notes. Use the right glue. The kit’s adhesive tabs are fine for a weekend. If you want two weeks, use the glue supplied (or a salon-grade glue). Keep acetone handy for removal or follow the peel-off method they recommend. Don’t rush it. I messed removal up once and learned the hard way. Won’t do that again.
If you want quick glam that doesn’t scream “I slapped these on five minutes ago,” these nails are a solid pick. I reckon most folks will be chuffed.
FAQ
How long does it last?
With proper nail prep and glue, expect around 10–14 days. If you use adhesive tabs or are rough with your hands, it can be 4–7 days. I got about 11 days with a full week of normal wear (washing hands, cooking, night out). Tips may show wear sooner if you’re hard on them.
Is it waterproof?
The nails themselves are water-resistant. Short showers and handwashing are totally fine. Prolonged soaking (long hot baths, dishes without gloves) will weaken the glue over time. So yes, waterproof-ish. Don’t test them like they’re dive gear.
